History
The Kids & Families Foundation instinctively came into being in November 2002 in order to answer an immediate need for Holiday toys for the patients of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Jackson Memorial Hospital. A wonderfully devoted group of friends and colleagues joined forces and organized a highly successful toy drive luncheon, beginning what has quickly become a heart-warming tradition in Miami.
The Kids & Families Foundation has held annual toy drives for the past five years, and each year has been more successful than the last. Recognizing the needs that exist among the pediatric hematology/oncology patients in Miami-Dade County, The Kids & Families Foundation is making a difference by channeling the efforts and the goodwill of their donors in order to reach those who very often slip through the cracks. These efforts support programs that not only bring smiles to those facing cancer, but also provide them with the tools that they need to succeed in life during treatment and after their recovery.
